We own and run Sun Valley Motel at 22 Port Albert Road, Wellsford. Our units are regularly booked by contractors working on State Highway 1, and we kept hearing the same thing from crews and their managers: finding enough decent beds close to site is hard, and it gets harder over summer.
So we started Crew Beds: a network of local places for the crews building the road and the other big projects up here. Sun Valley lists on the same terms as every other host, with no special placement.
You tell us how many beds and where. We send you checked places that fit.

Within one working day we send places that fit and are free for your dates, with weekly rates and the host's contact details.

We only book for registered New Zealand businesses, checked by NZ Business Number, with a named contact responsible for the crew and a job number on every booking. After each stay hosts review the crew too.
Yes. Add your calendar export (iCal) link when you list. We check it before sending you a crew, so you won't be double-booked. When a crew books with you, block the dates in your own calendar as usual.
We're talking with a local Warkworth laundry. Once they're listed, you'll book and pay them directly.
No. Crew Beds is an independent accommodation service. We're not part of NZ Transport Agency or the Northway consortium.
Nothing during launch, while we build the network ahead of the main motorway works. After that, a listing costs $99 a year per place, plus GST. There's no commission on bookings, ever. We'll email you at least 30 days before the fee starts, and if you'd rather not pay, you can remove your listing.
Only registered New Zealand businesses, checked by NZ Business Number, with a named person responsible for the crew. No private travellers.
