How Crew Beds works

Crew Beds matches contractors with hosts who have beds available. Hosts set their own rates and house rules. We confirm each booking with both sides in writing before anyone moves in.

Checks

Crew Beds is a listing site. Hosts supply their own photos and details and confirm they own or manage the place. We read every listing before it goes live and may remove listings at any time. We don't inspect places. Contractors must be registered New Zealand businesses with a NZ Business Number and a named contact responsible for the crew. Always confirm details directly before you book.

Each booking

Before anyone moves in, we confirm the dates, rate, house rules and notice period to both sides in writing. The contractor's company is responsible for its crew's conduct and for any damage they cause. Hosts are responsible for the place being safe and as described.

Reviews

After each stay both sides can review each other. Reviews stay hidden until both are sent, or for 14 days, then are published together. We check reviews against real bookings and remove abuse and personal details, but we don't edit them otherwise.

Fees

Crew Beds is free for contractors. Listing is free for hosts during our launch period. After that, a listing costs $99 a year per place, plus GST, invoiced yearly. There is no commission on bookings. We'll give hosts at least 30 days' notice by email before the fee starts or changes, and hosts can remove their listing at any time. Contractors pay hosts directly at the agreed rate.

Our role

Crew Beds connects hosts and contractors. We are not the accommodation provider, a party to any booking, or an insurer. Hosts are responsible for their place being safe, as described and suitably insured. Contractors are responsible for their crew and any damage they cause.

Your information

We collect the details you send through our forms so we can arrange bookings. We share a contractor's booking details with the host they're booked with, and a host's details with the contractor. We don't sell your information. Forms are processed by our website host, Netlify. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.
